The artist Michael Sailstorfer, who lives in Berlin, is an artistic jack-of-all-trades.
And so he has already converted a police car into a drum, completely cleared a section of forest of leaves and branches, burned a wooden house in its own oven and mounted a catapult onto car in order to send a streetlight into the night sky like a shooting star.
Using a wide variety of media, such as sculpture, film and photo, Sailstorfer records his artistic actions and thus continuously develops a work of great diversity.
Regardless of the different forms, Sailstorfer’s works captivate with a vibrant energy and youthful freshness, not least attributable to their subliminal humour, which binds us to them and roots them firmly in our consciousness.
